Hello Brave New World

I'm glad you found my blog. I was hoping that we could use this place to discuss things that concern you, things you are excited about and everything inbetween. To do that I was hoping that you could help me by suggesting some topics for us to talk about. This blog is open to comments and suggestions so don't be shy!

Since we don't have any of your thoughts yet I was wondering about something that we talked a few Sundays ago in SS.

The SciFi show Ghost Hunters where real life plumbers put down their monkey wrenches and search for proof of ghosts at night and on the weekend. After our discussion on ghosts I saw an ad for the show Medium which gives us a crime fighter who listens to the dead for advise on who did it. This all got me thinking about how we look at death and what we think about it. What are your views? Do you think either of these shows have it right? Is there another truth to life after death that TV hasn't covered?

Dear Adam,
Have you ever had a moment, perhaps in the gray area between the dreamtime and the waking world, where a voice delivered some cryptic message that occupied your mind for many a night?
Maybe it was a strange voice, inhuman and unfamiliar. Maybe it was all too familiar, sounding identical to something beloved from your childhood.
Maybe what was said gave you hope and new strength, or maybe it filled you with an unceasing dread.
I have had an experience like this a few times. Could the voice have come from the spirit of someone who had died?
Have you ever had an experience like this? If so, would you mind telling us about it?
An intrigued reader

Wow! This is a really cool blog! Only a total loser would pass up the chance to comment on such a compelling and timely topic, especially for the youth of the Arlington area.

(We're all pulling for ya big guy.)

I think sometimes spirits carry emotional baggage that keeps them tied to this world until those issues are resolved.
Death often leaves the soul confused so it is in a state that it can't resolve its problems.
Some eventually sort it out. I think the sadder ons will be trapped on Earth until judgement day.
I do belive some people can communicate with them.
Is it wrong to do so?

The ghost hunters show is stupid and if seen is obviously a staged hoax so much so that it is laughable (hahahahaha) but "medium" on the other hand well it could happen, the lord could use the spirit of the victim to aid in the justice process if he so chose!?! That show is not so much of a blatant find a ghost and destroy it show it is more of an accedental encounter with a concerned spirit wanting to help stop the evildoer!!!

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 says: Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, who interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritualistor who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and because of these detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you.

Do you think that God has changed his mind about mediums? Could not God allow justice to occur without the aid of restless spirits? If our Spirits hang out here then how does that affect heaven and hell, are they places we go to when we die or when we choose to go?
